Oregon test scores nose-dive, 40 percent of high school juniors failed writing

Perhaps, Ms. Hammond, if you had spent less time apologizing for Brent Crosson's greed and less energy castigating Rudy Crew for his expense vouchers and instead held some PERS millionaires accountable, this would not be so bleak a report?
But one does not expect you to take accountability for your actions. You are a victim of the very culture you have helped to create--you and every other "accountability" reporter who has printed puff pieces from school district "communications" experts.
The results of this report will only increase the perceived need to harass taxpayers for more L.O.L.'s so that retired administrators (who didn't do their jobs the first time) can come back as "consultants" and show current administrators how not to do their jobs this time.
Meanwhile, real teachers are reduced to chattel with undoable jobs and unfireable supervisors.
Makes you want to support the OEA and the elementary PE teacher from Beaverton who leads that righteous organization, huh? For, while we may not be able to write and compute in our schools, we will kick ass in kick ball! Right, Betsy?
